Francine and Rey’s Modern Clean Minimalist Wedding at the Brick, Liberty Station

Are you guys ready for this? Francine and Rey’s romantic modern minimalistic wedding is nothing short of details, lots of planning and clean lines. Francine, who has impeccable taste and style planned out every incredible detail of this wedding. When it comes to florals to weddings, I’m usually “go big or go home” but in this case, less was definitely more!

The color palette of this wedding was textured greens such a varies eucalyptus types and clean crisp white blooms such as ranunculus, creamy majolicas, veronicas, hellebores and more!

Rey and his son getting ready together just tugged at my heart. They looked so dapper and handsome! And I can’t get over that perfect red lip for Francine!

Ben and Rebecca’s Botanical Garden Wedding

Hi friends! I promise I’m alive! It’s been a busy wedding season and I’ve been enjoying immersing myself in dreamy florals.  And boy am I excited to share this wedding with you. Ben and Rebecca are sweet friends of mine (yes, I know I know…all my friends are so good looking!) and I was honored that they asked me to do the florals for their special day! When Rebecca and I started chatting about the style of her wedding and she really gave me a color palette and I just ran with it. I saw her wedding dress (all the pieces came from The Dress Theory here in San Diego) and it had an elegant boho feel about it. So that’s what I wanted the florals to embody.

Bevin and Allie’s Bernardo Winery Wedding

When I first met Allie, I was immediately drawn to her energy! She is just so sweet and spunky and I loved it! Later I found out that she worked for Young Life which I absolutely love! Young Life has made such an impact on so many of my friends growing up, helping them in tough situations in life.  So I admire that Allie was a Young Life leader and loved the impact that I know she made on so many lives!

Raven and Alec: Winter Love

I’ve been beyond slacking on sharing these amazing weddings that I’ve been doing! It’s a combination of pregnancy lazy (I just want to sit on the couch and eat ice cream), the summer heat, and exhaustion from chasing after a toddler who just doesn’t have a stop button. Needless to say, I’m sorry! But here I am! And I’ve got to share this amazing wedding that took place at the bride’s parents’ estate. Raven is apart of a well known family here in San Diego where her family owns Hanger 94 (an action sport shop in East County San Diego) and her brother in law and dad started The Salty Crew which has blown up like crazy! Not to mention, this family is all about family, which what I admire about Raven and her family the most! They are all so close and tight knit and I love it! So when I had met with her initially for her floral consultation, I loved that her mother and sisters were all there!

I absolutely loved dreaming up this winter jewel toned palette with Raven. She wanted to keep things classy with black gowns for the bridesmaids and black tuxes for the guys. Adding pops of deep red, dusty blues, and varies tones of fuchsia pinks that brought out the rich jewel tone colors for this evening wedding.

Linda and Justin: Horton Grand Hotel

I’m back at it! Finally after some time away from blogging about weddings, I have a good one to share! This year already has been so incredible working with creative brides who have a great vision but also trusting my work to deliver their vision for their amazing day!

Linda and Justin are such a sweet couple and it was such a pleasure meeting with them and dreaming up their wedding day! I loved their venue in the heart of downtown San Diego in an old historic hotel. The bricks and court yard along with the stormy clouds mixed with the twinkle lights all paired for the most perfect ambiance for this intimate wedding.

From her dress to her ring to her style…Linda is a pure classic and timeless lady through and through!

Kelsie and Tucker: Love that was Written in the Stars

Kelsie and Tucker have a crazy love story.  I’ve actually known Kelsie for a little bit and met her at a Bible study at a home where her (at the time unknown to us all) in-laws hosted.  The Dunns (Tucker’s family) and the Harpers (Kelsie’s family) have actually been long time family friends for generations! As I was told, Kelsie and Tucker actually played together when they were really little but life, school, etc kept them apart for awhile and they kept missing each other during family function. Until finally they met and dated a few years ago and in that moment it was clear to them both that they were meant to be and an engagement and getting married was a no brainer.  Two families’ dream to have this union to happen did and they couldn’t be more thrilled for this sweet couple.  I have yet to meet Tucker still, but knowing Kelsie and Rick & Mary Beth (Tucker’s parents) I know he is an amazing guy for this special and beautiful lady! I honestly couldn’t be happier for you both! Here are some beautiful images from their wedding day! It was such a blessing to be a part of their day through florals!

Jane and Kevin: San Diego Backyard wedding

When I first met Jane, I immediately loved her gentle spirit and kind heart.  The more we talked about floral decor, the more I realized how much she just trusted me to just do my thing because all she had on her mind was being married to her love. I do love working with brides who have every detail of their wedding day planned to the T, but there’s something so special about being the visionary for the bride and surprising her on her wedding day with florals that are better than she had dreamt of.  Of course Jane had an idea and expectation of what I was creating for her, but I wanted to do more for this sweet bride! She was so sweet and gracious in the whole process and it was an honor and delight to have been apart of their wedding day through florals! My favorite part was when I was setting up for her reception, she had snuck away from the pictures and guests to come see the magic of the set up during the cocktail hour. She just stood there looking so elegant and stunning, and just gazed at everything come together for hers and Kevin’s special day. Here’s a little snippet of their stunning backyard wedding.

Katy and Matt: Sunny Blue Skies at the Admiral Kidd Club

I am so excited to share Katy and Matt’s gorgeous wedding! It was nothing but joy, laughter, calm nerves and bliss from the moment I dropped off Katy’s personal flowers at her sister’s home where she was getting ready.  Let me start off by telling you a little bit about Katy….

This girl is all smiles! She was so calm and relaxed at all of our meets and her sisters who were her bridesmaids wanted flower crowns to wear at her wedding and she totally said YES! I don’t get a lot of brides who let their bridesmaids stand out a little, because after all, it’s the bride’s day right? But Katy wanted to make sure her sisters enjoyed the day as much as she did.  I think that says a lot about who Katy is. And Matt…this guy is hilarious! I learned that he lived in a submarine while being deployed with the Navy. I’m a bit claustrophobic and I get seasick pretty easily so I was just amazed how anyone can live on a submarine! And it sounds so cool!! I met him at our final consultation and enjoyed hearing his opinion on a few floral decors. I rarely get to meet the groom because let’s be honest, most of them would much rather talk about sports than flowers and seeing the dollar signs that come with floral arrangements give men anxiety.  However, Matt and Katy both understood and respected my field of work and they were so easy to work with! It was a joy to “floralize” their wedding day and I hope you enjoy these pictures of their stunning wedding!

Smith_Wedding_2Aren’t Katy’s sisters so beautiful?! And I just love the flower crowns that I made on them!

Whitney & Steve: Vintage Garden Wedding at Twin Oaks Garden & Estate, San Marcos

This summer so far has been a whirlwind of a season for me with weddings. There are no words to how blessed and grateful I feel to be booked solid this year! All thanks to you and my brides and community! My floral creativity has been pushed and challenged and stretched in all good ways that I feel more energized. I am so thankful for this rare and brief moment that I get to sit in front of my computer to share Whitney and Steve’s gorgeous day!  Although I have to say, here in California we’re having a serious drought and of course on all days for it to rain, it was pouring days leading up to this sweet couple’s wedding day.  In fact, as I was setting up that morning it was still drizzling here and there.  Let me tell you, I prayed so hard for the rain to subside for a few hours for when they say their “I dos” and God listened! And He did more than that as He gave the couple such a stunning lighting that Yes, Dear Studios captured perfectly! Don’t take my word for it…see for yourself!
