Emily + Troy’s Classic Timeless Wedding at the La Jolla Women’s Club

Happy New Year Friends! It’s finally 2021. The year that we thought wasn’t ever gonna get here. But here we are. A new year and still in the height of a pandemic. But I don’t know about you, but I feel so hopeful! I can’t wait to start flowering beautiful weddings for my incredible brides who have been so patient and gracious during this season of their lives.

I am so excited to be sharing Emily and Troy’s wedding in La Jolla from my archives. Everything about this wedding was classic and timeless! I have to first start by saying that the moment I met Emily and her mom, I wanted them to adopt me into their fun family! Also I’ve never been to Tennessee so I wanted them to take me back home with them. We chatted for almost 2 hours at our first design meeting mostly because I just had so much fun hanging out with them! When you have that much fun together, you know that it’s a meant to be and you just have to do their wedding because you’re practically family now, right? Needless to say, dreaming up and designing the details of Emily’s wedding was wonderful! So here is a peak into their perfect day!

A note on Emily’s dress from The Dress Theory: From the fit to the style, it is one of my favorite classic wedding gowns. Emily has the most impeccable fashion taste and I just knew that whatever gown she picked would reflect this!

I loved working with Robyn from Ivory Stone Events Co who helped oversee all the incredible details of this day. We made sure that every area of the venue was well dressed and touched.

Emily + Troy’s color palette is the classic whites/creams florals paired with more array of vibrant greens so that it was cohesive with the greens in the gardens that were already existing at the La Jolla Women’s Club. We wanted the florals to reflect a classic and timeless feel while making sure the structure of the arrangements were airy and light since they were getting married near the beach/water yet romantic since the vintage La Jolla Women’s club offers that intimate garden setting.

Can I just say that florals in fountains are just one of my favorites! You just have to be prepared to get a little wet during install…

Robyn from Ivory Stone Events had this lovely idea of having champagne ready for the guest upon seating as they go into the reception with their seating assignment hanging on the flute. We added some satellite florals on the shelving.

I love flowering the stairs for Troy and Emily’s grand entrance. It brought more elements of organic garden on those vintage carpeted steps.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Gargiulos!!!

I am so excited to share Katy and Matt’s gorgeous wedding! It was nothing but joy, laughter, calm nerves and bliss from the moment I dropped off Katy’s personal flowers at her sister’s home where she was getting ready.  Let me start off by telling you a little bit about Katy….

This girl is all smiles! She was so calm and relaxed at all of our meets and her sisters who were her bridesmaids wanted flower crowns to wear at her wedding and she totally said YES! I don’t get a lot of brides who let their bridesmaids stand out a little, because after all, it’s the bride’s day right? But Katy wanted to make sure her sisters enjoyed the day as much as she did.  I think that says a lot about who Katy is. And Matt…this guy is hilarious! I learned that he lived in a submarine while being deployed with the Navy. I’m a bit claustrophobic and I get seasick pretty easily so I was just amazed how anyone can live on a submarine! And it sounds so cool!! I met him at our final consultation and enjoyed hearing his opinion on a few floral decors. I rarely get to meet the groom because let’s be honest, most of them would much rather talk about sports than flowers and seeing the dollar signs that come with floral arrangements give men anxiety.  However, Matt and Katy both understood and respected my field of work and they were so easy to work with! It was a joy to “floralize” their wedding day and I hope you enjoy these pictures of their stunning wedding!
